Get used to this motion, it can't be stressed enough. The first part of this trick is to get comfortable shifting your back foot for the tail of the board to hit the ground, so you can pop it up and into the air. An ollie involves popping the board up into the air and landing on it safely. Start by popping the front up with your back foot on the tail. One exit strategy if you're riding on flat without pads is to take your back foot off in front of you and walk or run away from the board.
